Silence

Alphabets. Words. Sentences.
Infinite number of languages.
None of them will ever be enough.

Maybe that’s why Allah blessed us with another language, unique from all: The language of silence.

There is no doubt that the verbal expression of feelings is very important, very important indeed. But then there are some feelings which are… different.
And how can you capture that feeling in words, a feeling that is formless, yet intense. To the extent that you feel it can blow you apart.
How do you describe it in words? How do you transfer that ‘extent-less, boundary-less’ emotion into words which are just as boundary-less? Which are vast enough to encompass its magnitude?
Which can do justice to its essence?
Won’t that sometimes feel like you’ve made the infinite, finite. Like you’ve limited it, in the cage of words.

But what about that language?
‘Silence’.
Formless.
Intense.
And oh, extent-less.
No perimeters. Stretched into infinity.
Isn’t it the one language worthy of holding that emotion?

So sometimes, maybe this is what we need to do.
Break the words.
Let that emotion run wild.
Be silent.

And does silence speak?
Oh it does.
It so does.
