What a strange and magnificent creation of nature.
He looks up and sees something. Something that needs to be done. Something that’ll make a difference, no matter how small, to someone.
And he looks at it from where he’s sitting on the ground.
And it comes to his mind: You can’t do it.
And it comes to his mind: You aren’t able enough.
And it comes to his mind: You’ll fall.
And as he stands up, each thought pulls him back down, a weight anchoring him to where he sits, a chain around his feet.
They will try to bring him down with their weight, their strength.
But you witness.
Him rising up.
Him moving forward.
Slowly, steadily. Those chains still pulling. He still pushing. Sweating, exhausted with that pull. But still pushing ahead.
How magnificent a sight that is.
The human being, doubtful, disturbed, shattered at times, still going on. Still going on.
With a spark of faith in a world that gets so dark.
